Focus Bari, wanting to capture the attitudes and preferences of Greeks for Christmas, conducted a new nationwide Survey, according to which:

  • Most Greeks decorate their Christmas tree by early December and keep their Christmas traditions to prove their worth.
  • For Christmas treats, they prefer a combination of homemade and ready-made sweets, with most people actively involved in the preparation of homemade creations. The most popular choice being melomakarona!
  • For Christmas gifts, the public balances between online and physical shopping, with many choosing exclusively physical stores for the atmosphere and festive experience they offer.
  • Over the festive season, Greeks plan to spend an average of €97.1 on personal shopping and €116.8 on gifts for loved ones.
  • As for Santa Claus, he is considered a symbol of joy and a nice story for children…

Focus Bari, systematically monitoring the relationship and views of Greeks regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI), conducted a new Nationwide Survey titled: ‘Greeks and Artificial Intelligence: Attitudes & Impact,’ which revealed the following findings:

  • One in two Greeks uses at least one AI tool, with ChatGPT standing out as the most popular.
  • AI opens new professional horizons for most Greeks, especially its users, boosting skills and opportunities.
  • In the e-commerce sector, AI is expected to enhance store operations and improve the customer experience, according to Greek expectations.
  • Despite the enthusiasm, the development of AI raises concerns about potential job losses and an increased threat of fraud.
  • The need for strict regulations is universal, with over three in five citizens demanding measures to protect against malicious use and misinformation.

Views & Proposals of Greeks on the Panic Button and the Protection of Minors

Safety of minors at the forefront: Greeks Demand Responsibility, Innovation and Cooperation!

According to a new nationwide survey by Focus Bari, entitled:

“Opinions & opinions. Suggestions of Greeks on the Panic Button and the Protection of Minors”,It is found that:

  • The majority of Greeks express moderate support for the expansion of Panic Button, recognizing its importance in the prevention and safety of minors.
  • Half of Greeks express reservations about the extension of the measure,underlining the need for proper education and information in order to ensure its responsible use.
  • The effectiveness of the Panic Button depends on the immediate information & response of the Authorities and the education of children and guardians.
  • Public opinion recognises the mainstays of child safety in the public spaces, the police, schools and local authorities.
  • Around two out of three Greeks believe that private companies can enhance the protection of minors through sponsorship for information and prevention.

Parental Concerns in Greece: from safety to school shopping

More than one in two parents express concern about the safety of their children in the school environment!

According to a new nationwide survey by Focus Bari, entitled: “Parental concerns in Greece: From safety to school shopping” , it is found that:

  • Mental balance & bullying are the main parental concerns most prominently among moms and parents of teen and pre-teen children at the start of this school year.
  • For the new school year, parents choose school supplies mainly based on low prices and offers, taking into account the preferences of their children, while quality and durability seem to come in “second place” in view of the tight finances in Greek household.
  • The average expenditure on school supplies is €128, with older parents spending more.
  • Almost three out of four parents prefer to buy school supplies from physical stores, with just 7% opting exclusively for online shopping for these items.
  • Parents sourced school equipment from both well-known chain stores and local bookshops, with some choosing supermarkets.

Greeks AI & ChatGPT

According to a new  Survey by Focus Bari, which systematically monitors the relationship and opinions of Greeks regarding Artificial Intelligence, it is found that:

  • Two out of three Greeks express a cautious attitude towards the impact that the expanded use of IT will have on society and on our lives
  • Nevertheless, the proportion of Greeks who have a Chat GPT account is constantly increasing, from 21% in July 2023 to 30% in February 2024, and it is used for a multitude of topics of interest, for work and for studies by students.
  • While it is considered an easy-to-use, time & effort-saving tool, Chat GPT users largely find it needs some care in how to use it, as its responses are often simplistic and require verification.
  • Finally, a significant proportion of users fear that Chat GPT is dangerous because it hinders study, thinking, developing judgment and progress
