– International survey “Global Public Confidence” in 21 countries by the IRIS Network and Focus Bari for Greece –
Focus Bari, which represents the international IRIS (International Research Institutes) network in Greece, participated in an important survey on “GLOBAL PUBLIC CONFIDENCE” concerning critical issues of our time.
The survey was designed and implemented on the initiative of the Network in 21 countries. The findings presented in this publication: “Global Perceptions and Concerns about the Economy: Trends and Challenges”, were combined with Greek data from YouGov Profiles and reveal the following:
- International crisis of confidence: Six out of ten citizens worldwide believe that their countries are moving in the wrong direction – in Greece, pessimism is even more pronounced.
- Global recession and uncertainty: One in two sees their national economy weakening; in Greece, concern is more widespread, with the majority saying they are already experiencing a recession.
- Pressure on households – cuts in everyday spending: The high cost of living is leading to widespread cutbacks, mainly in clothing, eating out, and food. Although this is a common phenomenon, the intensity varies from country to country, with Greece among the countries with the largest cuts.
- Low confidence and insecurity among Greeks: Only one in four Greeks say they can cope with a personal financial crisis, while citizens are more cautious than ever in managing their finances.
