Nationwide Survey by Focus Bari for the Hellenic Association of Regional Press Publishers (E.D.I.P.T.)

Focus Bari Conducts Nationwide Survey for the Association of Journalists and Magazine Press Owners

Focus Bari conducted a new nationwide survey on behalf of the Association of Journalists and Magazine Press Owners (E.D.I.P.T.), highlighting the vital role of specialized and regional print media in an era of information overload and an increasing demand for reliable information.

The findings were presented during MEDIA & MAGAZINE DAYS 2026, held from June 3–5 at the iconic Tobacco Factory of the Hellenic Parliament, with the participation of prominent institutional representatives and key stakeholders from the media industry.

The results were presented by Focus Bari founder and Resilience Expert Xenia Kourtoglou, who emphasized the following key findings:

Information Overload and Distrust Shape the New Media Landscape

An overwhelming 80% of Greeks say they feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of news and information they receive, while 9 out of 10 express reservations about the reliability and credibility of the content they consume.

Strong Relationship with Specialized Print Media

78% of citizens engage with specialized print publications, while more than two-thirds of readers (68%) say they find useful, exclusive, and meaningful content in these publications that they cannot find elsewhere.

Specialized Print Media: A Trusted Reference for Professionals and Demanding Audiences

65% of professionals consider specialized publications to be a reliable source of information for their industry, while 54% of readers use them as a practical resource for their work, knowledge, and personal interests.

Regional Print Media Remain a Pillar of Local Influence

More than three out of four Greeks (77%) engage with regional print publications, recognizing their crucial role in connecting citizens with their local communities (74%) and in highlighting the issues that matter most to local societies.
